July Favorites

July is almost over. It feels like the year is going by so quickly. At my work we are already getting Halloween items. Eeep! It's still summer! Here are some of my favorites for the month of July. There isn't a lot of beauty related items, because this month I was really trying to find some good products for my skincare routine and I have found some hits and misses. Let's get started!

July Favorites

Makeup Girls Cosmetic Bag I got this bag for my birthday , and I love it. If you can't tell, I have a thing for the Harajuku Lovers line. I love Gwen, what can I say? This bag is wonderful, I love that it is clear, so you can see what you have. Love it!

Sunshine Cuties in Music and Baby Wonderful summer scents. Both of these are fresh fruity scents. I love that these scents aren't overpowering. I can wear them if I have to work mornings without making myself sick from too sweet a scent.

Sephora by OPI Go with the Flow-er Nail Polish This is such a bright and sparkly pink. Great for summertime!

Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Revolver My first Urban Decay eyeshadow, and I just love it. This is such a nice soft gray, a perfect addition to my makeup collection.

Tea Tree Blemish Fade Night Lotion This is the most exciting item (to me at least). I used to really have an issue with redness from pimples, and the redness would hang around long after the pimple left. I have only been using this product for a few weeks and I already notice a difference. I have a lot less post acne redness, and some acne scars are starting to fade. Plus it doesn't make my oily skin feel greasy. This is quickly becoming a holy grail item for me.

Wild Honeysuckle Hand Cream This scent is my new favorite from Bath & Body Works. I need to the the body mist.

I'm also excited because this is the end of first month of blogging. Yay! There will be many more to come. Hope you all had a fabulous July & here's hoping we have a great August!

What's in my bag?

I love What's in my bag posts. I love the flickr community, I love the livejournal community. There is something about peaking into someone's bag that is such fun.

What's in my bag?

My bag is a bit of a mess, as you can tell. I just got back from San Diego yesterday, so I've still got my Zoo pass. Along with random things I picked up while out of town.

What's in your bag? Do you love looking in other peoples bags?

MAC & Sephora Haul

I picked a few items from the MAC In The Groove collection a few days after it came out. I also picked up some pretties from Sephora while I was visiting my dad in Albuquerque.

First, MAC's In The Groove.

Stereo Rose MSF I was so lucky to get this item. I got the last one at my MAC Pro store. It is a lovely coral with bronze veining.

Jazzed Lipstick A nice coral pink lipstick. Different from most of the other colors I have.

Chillin’ Cremesheen Glass Looks blueish in pictures, but it is a very simple shimmery gloss. I imagine it would look good on top of just about anything.

I also grabbed one item not from the In The Groove collection, a Studio Finish Concealer. While one of the MAC Artists was helping me figure out the MSFs, she put on some concealer over my cheeks to cancel out my natural redness. I was so surprised, and the effect was wonderful. I just loved it. I could go on and on about how pleased I was about learning this. It just made me so happy. I need to hold myself back from going on and on about how great this whole idea is.

Second, a Sephora haul. Now, there isn't a Sephora where I live, so when I'm near one I like to grab some goodies. Plus, it was within two weeks of my birthday, so I got the little Sephora freebee too. Yay!

Bad Gal Lash & Too Faced Lash Injection in travel sizes. I love having travel sized mascaras. Somehow travel sizes make me happy.

Hello Flawless from Benefit. Hello Flawless is supposed to be a good foundation for oily skin, so I will definitely give this a try.

Coralista by Benefit. My first Benefit box! I'm excited. Such a lovely coral color.

24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Zero by Urban Decay. I already have a few other 24/7 eye liners, but no black. Weird, right? I really needed to get the black to go with all my other colors.

Buxom Travel In Style The packing is what got me. This set includes a Mini Big & Healthy Lip Polish in Monica & a Mini Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Athens. Lovely colors.

Sephora Beauty Insider Birthday Gift includes a white shimmery eyeshadow, a deep green eyepencil and a mascara.

I've yet to try all these items, but now I am back home I will have to try all of them! If you would like any reviews of swatches, please let me know!

L'oreal Lash Serum - a review

About two months ago, I started having problems with my lashes. It seemed like they were falling out at an alarming rate. Now, I am not currently the type of person that wears a lot of eye makeup, so harsh products and removal were not the culprits. Quite possibly, it was just a cycle in my lash growth. All I know is loosing a lot of lashes is really annoying!

L'oreal Lash Serum is supposed to make your lashes stronger and longer. The product suggests you wear it at night, and under mascara during the day. It comes with a little wand (no bristles) so you just sweep the product over your lashes. The directions also say to apply the product to where your lashes grow. Although, I avoid putting it too close to my eyes, as the serum can irritate my eyes. If you stick to just applying this on the lashes, you should be fine.

I haven't used the Lash Serum every single day, and I only use it at night. It is a bit goopy and who wants goopy eyes all day? Nevertheless, this has worked so well for me. I find that when I use this regularly, I have a lot less lash fall out. I believe my lashes are healthier than before. When I skip using this, I get some fallout, so I definitely think this serum is working.

I bought this at Ulta, but I believe you can buy it wherever L'oreal products are sold. I will definitely repurchase this item. I am so glad my lashes are healthier! They don't seem to be any longer, but I figure one step at a time, right? Let me know if you have used L'oreal Lash Serum. Does it work for you?

Disclaimer - I bought this product myself. This is my honest opinion.

Fahsionable Heart!

Let me tell you a little story. I recently decided to make a beauty blog. I was a little iffy about it, because I am not the most beauty conscious, but I would like to add my beauty story to the world. If I like a product, I'll write about it. If I hate a product, I'll write about it.

This is in part due to one beauty & fashion blog that I found, that really spoke to me. Most beauty blogs seem a bit daunting. But Wendy, or the owner of Fashionable Heart, is just such a straight forward and honest beauty blogger. I really do hope you check out her blog, and her recent contest.

Fashionable Heart - the blog
Fashionable Heart - the 100 followers contest

Congratulations on reaching 100 followers Wendy!
