Revlon Colorburst Lipsticks

I have been trying so hard to save money for the MAC Venomous Villains collection. I've been doing pretty good, but when I went shopping with my mom the other day, I just couldn't stop myself from grabbing some Revlon lipsticks and a Grow Luscious Mascara.

Peach

Soft Rose

Carnation

I bought Carnation before I bought the other shades, and I just love it. It is such a wonderfully bright pink. I like the Peach and Soft Rose, but I don't think I like them as much as Carnation. I would definitely recommend Carnation if you are looking for a good pink. They are fairly moisturizing, and look just lovely on.

I actually saw the lipsticks and the mascara mentioned on Melissa's channel. She loves the mascara, so I am looking forward to trying that out!

Now I need to go back to saving for Venomous Villains.

MOOM Organic Hair Remover - a review

On one of my recent trips to TJ Maxx I found this little product, MOOM Organic Hair Remover. I get what I like to call a fifteen year old boy mustache. A little peach fuzz on my upper lip. I hate it. I have used all different kinds of products for it, but it seems like while they work very well at first, they work less and less well over time. I figured I would have to try threading next, but at $8 a pop, it would get expensive fast. Luckily I found this kit at TJ Maxx for $3.99.

In this little kit, I got a 1.6 oz jar of hair remover, 6 fabric strips, and 2 applicators. The hair remover has the consistency of really thick honey, and considering its ingredient list (Organic Cane Sugar, Organic Lemon Juice, Organic Chamomile, Organic Tea Tree Oil, Organic Aloe and Water) that is no surprise.

I used this today for the first time, and I love it. Most hair removers remove everything, but darker hairs are more difficult. With MOOM, the darker hairs are gone, and there are just the really blond, light hairs left. My upper lip feels and looks natural. It doesn't have a discernible smell, and the whole process was relatively quick. I wouldn't want to go out right after doing this, but it any redness goes away within an hour I would say.

I hope this product still works as well when I've had it for longer. If so, I would definitely repurchase. I am quite happy I gave this product a try!

Disclaimer - I bought this product myself. This is my honest opinion.

MAC X Disney Venomous Villains

I don't know about you, but I am so excited for this collection! A friend told me about it, via the coco perez website, and I just about flipped. I really enjoy MAC, but I love Disney. And you have to admit, the Villains are more fun! At the moment I am busy trying to save every penny so I can go hog wild when this collection comes out. I feel even more lucky because the MAC Pro that is out here will be having a preview party. Joy!!

The Cruella lip colors all look lovely, and I am thinking I must grab the eyeshadows too.

The Evil Queen is my favorite Disney Villain. I am so happy that she is a part of this collection. Out of all the mini-collections in this one mega-collection, the Evil Queen is the one I want just about everything in.

The Maleficent nail lacquers look simply amazing. I do want to try out the lip products though.

The Dr. Facilier is probably the collection I am least interested in, although the melon pigment looks lovely. I'll probably take a closer look at the Magically Cool Liquid Powders, but I don't know if I'll really want them.

If you want to see more info, do check out Temtalia, all the collection info is here. (All pictures in this post belong to Temptalia.)

Are you looking forward to the Venomous Villains collection? Which items do you think look the most promising? Which items do you think you'll pick up?

8 Questions tag

Hurrah! I was tagged by Wendy for this tag. I'll answer her eight questions, then tag you (since I don't have eight followers yet) with eight new questions. Sounds like fun!

1. If your bags were packed by the door right now for a vacation, where would you choose to go?
London, England. I have always wanted to go there, and have never been.

2. What is one TV show that you can watch over and over?
Right now it is The Closer on TNT. I've never been a huge fan of crime type shows, real life or fake. Some get too creepy or gruesome for me. But lately I have been watching The Closer with my mom. It is such a good show. There is the high drama of crime mixed with the everyday drama of life. Plus it's funny.

3. What is one song that you absolutely cannot stand right now?
I'm actually really tired of all those songs that people use as intros to their youtube videos. Bleh!

4. Who would play you in a movie about your life?
I would love Rosalind Russell to play me. Sadly, she is deceased, but I can't think of any other actress I like as much as her.

5. What is one thing that people rave on about that you thought was actually horrible?
I can't think of something that I genuinely thought was horrible, but I do think Marine Life (MAC) got way over hyped. It's pretty, but it just didn't wow me the way it seemed to wow everyone else.

6. What color would you never paint your bedroom?
White. Right now I live in an apartment, and have for a few years. Generally in apartments you can't paint, which means I have been living with white walls for years and I am tired of it!

7. What is one article of clothing that you wouldn't be caught dead in?
Bicycle shorts. I used to wear them as a kid, and I won't willing do that again.

8. What is your favorite book?
The Red Leather Diary by Lily Koppel. The story behind this book is that Lily Koppel is a journalist living in New York. Her building was throwing out some old steamers, and Lily decided to look through them. She found lots of treasures, including a young woman's diary. The diary belonged to Florence Wolfson, and it chronicles five years of her life in New York in the late 1920s, early 1930s. It is just an amazing book. If you think you dislike non-fiction, I seriously suggest you grab this book and give it a try. I work at a bookstore, and this book is my constant staff recommend.

I tag ... well, all of you! & my questions are:
1. What song always makes you happy?
2. What is your go-to nail polish/varnish?
3. What is your favorite snack food?
4. Is there a particular brand that you adore and feel was made particularly for you?
5. What was your favorite subject in school?
6. If you could visit one time period, what would it be?
7. Would you rather go to a murder mystery dinner, or a Renaissance Faire?
8. Who is your favorite youtuber?

Don't feel like you have to answer if you've done the tag already. Have a great weekend!

Hello Flawless! - a review

This is my first review that was a request. Yay a request! This request is from Linh over at for the love of lipsticks, which is a lovely blog that you should definitely check out. Now, off to the review!

Hello Flawless! Benefit's tag line for Hello Flawless is that it "glides on naturally sheer and layers beautifully for customized coverage with SPF protection". Now, since I am new to makeup, especially in the realm of foundations, I am a little cautious of using something that is medium to full coverage. I just don't think I quite know what I am doing well enough to dive into full coverage. Plus, do to department store make-overs, I associate full coverage with caked on foundation. A sheer yet buildable coverage foundation sounded like a great idea to me!

Hello Flawless, at first, underwhelmed me. I had seen such good reviews for this product, that it is possible I had built up my expectations too much. This product looks good sheer, and the coverage, when used with a sponge is fairly good. It is my no means a strong concealer, but it will do in a pinch. I have fairly dark circle under my eyes, and this does not completely erase them, instead it just makes me look a little more awake.

Hello Flawless comes with a little sponge, which is great for the buildable coverage, and a little brush, which is crap. I use the sponge for the areas I need more coverage in, and a kabuki for sheerer coverage. I do like to set this product with my MAC Fix +, as it is a powder. This is a good product to use if you have good skin, and want a light coverage foundation.

This product is certainly not a holy grail product for me. If you don't get dark under-eye circles, this product will be lovely for you. I have oily skin, and this did not break me out. Granted, I don't use foundation everyday, so it is hard for me to say how this would do if you used this everyday. Would I repurchase? I'm not entirely certain. I do like a sheer coverage look, it just improves my look without look drastic. But there are too many foundations I want to try for me to tie my loyalty to this product.

I tried this at work on one of my early mornings. Sorry for the un-interesting makeup, six in the morning is not my most creative time, makeup wise. :)

After 12 hours of wear, with no touch-ups. (Sorry for the lack of lipstick, I forgot to touch up that too.)

Considering I took the first pictures at 6 AM, and the second set at 6 PM, I think Hello Flawless held up pretty well, especially for "sheer" coverage.

Disclaimer - I bought this product myself. This is my honest opinion.

Too Faced Lash Injection - a review

I want to tell you a little story. One night, I had to go to work. It was a little shift, about five hours. I figured I could put on mascara for the night. I decided to try my Too Faced Lash Injection. Big mistake. In two hours it was flaking off my lashes. Two hours! No, bad mascara! Bad!

Would I get this mascara again? No. And you shouldn't get it either.

Have you tried Too Faced Lash Injection? Love it or Hate it?

Disclaimer - I bought this product myself. This is my honest opinion.

CCO Haul, part 2

Hello again! I figured I would get the last part of my CCO haul posted. So, this part will be the last part, and will include lipsticks and lipglosses. First up, the lipsticks!

There they are, all sitting in a row. And may I say?

The MAC Fafi collection had the prettiest packaging! I just love the Fafi illustrations.

I picked up Blow Dry, Flash-N-Dash, Freckletone, and Fresh Salmon. Freckletone is the odd man out out of my purchases. It is a nude, which is not my usual shade du jour. I want to try something a little different, and for me that is a nude lip.

Next up? The Glosses!

I grabbed Bonus Beat (lipglass), Goldyrocks (dazzleglass), and Gold Rebel (lipglass). I love getting items from past collections at the CCO. Plus, who doesn't like spending less?

I originally fell in love with MAC at the CCO. I grabbed a slimshine and fell in love. Sadly, the slimshines are being dicontinued. Next time I go to a CCO I am planning on stocking up on slimshines!

CCO Haul, part 1

Hello Ladies! It feels so weird that it is August already. Where did the year go?

Anyway, recently I went down to San Diego, and checked out the Las Americas Outlet Center. It was amazing. There were outlet stores that I had never seen before, including Disney, Lane Bryant and Old Navy. Who knew? But for me, I get excited about shopping at CCO, or the Cosmetic Company Outlet. I picked up some lipsticks, some lip-glosses, and some Mineralized Skinfinishes. Generally at a CCO I go straight to the MAC display. I check out the other brands, Estee Lauder, Clinique and Bobbi Brown, but I rarely find anything I want at those displays.

Since I grabbed so much MAC, I figured I would split up the posts into MSFs, lipsticks, and lip-glosses. Todays' post will be dedicated to MSFs. I got three while in San Diego, Refined, Cheeky Bronze, and Porcelain Pink.

Refined is on the top, Cheeky Bronze Bottom left, and Porcelain Pink bottom right.

Cheeky Bronze is a lovely peachy bronze. Probably the most wearable bronze I've been able to find. I think this would look beautiful on darker skin tones.

Porcelain Pink is a really light pink. It works well on my light skin as a lovely blush. It gives just a little glow, nothing too strong or overpowering.

Refined is the MSF I am most excited for. Look at all that veining! This gives my skin just a beautiful glow. For me Refined will be the most multi-purpose. It can be worn as a highlighter or a blush and is lovely on the skin. Out of all three, if I had the chance to re-purchase them, I would definitely buy Refined.

Here are some swatches!

What MSFs do you own? Which one is your favorite?
